Job Description

Pacific Region has an exceptional professional opportunity for a Senior GIS Web Developer who will perform a senior development role focusing on enterprise web solutions. As a Senior GIS Web Developer you will contribute to the ongoing business operations of the company by effectively providing technical leadership and delivery of assigned consulting services. This position will be based in the Victoria office. Responsibilities include: • Carrying out web application development/design, software implementation and documentation. • Work closely with the solutions team to design, develop, recommend, implement, and support system architecture (hardware, software, application, database and communications) for enterprise GIS web based solutions. • Testing, documentation and installation of customized web applications integrated with ESRI products. • Working with clients to assist them during the implementation process of software. • Designing client applications from conception to completion. • Providing database design, application support and prototype development expertise when assigned to a client project. • Contributing to needs analysis, functional requirements definition, and business solution needs as outlined by a client. • Provide input into the preparation of proposals (e.g. RFPs, RFIs and RFQs) as requested. • Technical advisor to key enterprise accounts

Job Qualifications

Specific skill requirements: • 7+ years industry experience with the implementation of ESRI products and GIS application development • Proven knowledge and experience as a consultant in GIS based solutions • Ability to complete technical studies and provide technical recommendations/reports • Strong knowledge in the use of data and process modelling methodologies, techniques and tools • Proven knowledge and experience with ESRI products such as ArcGIS, ArcSDE and ArcObjects • Experience with: AJAX, REST, Flex, Silverlight, ASP.NET, and Web services (SOAP, RESTful) • Proven knowledge and experience with ArcGIS Server ArcGIS API for JavaScript, ArcGIS API for Flex and ArcGIS API for Microsoft Silverlight/WPF • Working knowledge of relational databases (Oracle or SQLServer) • University degree in computer science, math, GIS or equivalent education and experience Competencies in the following are essential: • Excellent customer focus • Strong interpersonal skills / relationship building • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills • Advanced leadership, mentoring and coaching skills • Time management / Multi-tasking ability • Detail orientated • Excellent communication / presentation skills • Team player with a track record for meeting deadlines Considered as assets for this position are the following: • Experience with Enterprise ArcSDE implementations • In-depth knowledge of advanced ArcSDE functionality (versioning, replication, archiving) • Knowledge of BC Government application development standards • Experience with OGC standards • Working knowledge of ESRI geoprocessing technologies ESRI Canada provides a dynamic work environment, an opportunity to build your skills with leading tools and technologies and a team based approach.
