This is a permanent, full-time position working thirty-five (35) hours per week. We invite you to consider our opportunity for a Supervisor, GIS Data and Mapping. This position has a variety of tasks including: • Supervise the development, implementation, and administration of procedures and policies • Review staff performance with Branch Manager. • Ensure regular contact is maintained with user departments to discuss new projects, current and future requirements and to assist in the development of new initiatives. • Develop, refine and report on the Service Delivery performance measures. • Lead the organization in establishing organization wide GIS (Geographic Information Systems) objectives. • Assist the Branch Manager in the planning and preparation of long-term implementation strategies for implementation of spatially-related software systems and applications. • Oversee the planning, coordinating, and managing of data used by the RMWB’s Geographic Information Systems. • Implement quality control measures and oversee quality control on all developed and maintained GIS data. • Responsible for managing all procedures related to the identification, prioritization, and resolution of client requests at the data/mapping level, including the monitoring, tracking, and coordination of service. • Coordinate and/or perform error checking and error reports provided by clients to ensure they are evaluated and resolved within Service Level standards • Develop, manage and administer Service Delivery standards • Facilitate communication between the GIS Branch and its clients in order to define and maintain the Services required for each business unit across the organization • Monitor Service Delivery performance for compliance with organizational needs and requirements, including follow up checks for corrective actions.

Job Qualifications

You will possess a two (2) year Diploma in Geographic Information Systems. Successful completion of a four (4) year Degree in Geographic Information Systems is an asset. (An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.) Project Management Certification is preferred. You will have four (4) years experience including two (2) years of supervisory experience. Other success factors include: Proven ability to read and interpret engineering, survey, and legal cadastral plans, and knowledge of the Alberta Township System; Effective presentation, interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills are required; Proficiency with one or more industry-standard Desktop GIS, AutoCAD and other drafting systems knowledge are required; Working knowledge of Enterprise GIS in Municipal Government; Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, user-elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development, and; Experience in planning, organizing, and developing information technology policies, procedures, and practices
