ISL Engineering and Land Services currently has an opening for a GIS Developer in Edmonton. You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computing Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline. You have 3-5 years of experience specifically in GIS related software development. You have a comprehensive knowledge of: OOP principles, N-Tier architecture, and revision control methodology. Working knowledge of: C#, VB, database design principles, remote session software, numerous vector and raster spatial data formats, any of the GIS related SDK’s, and various flavours of Microsoft Windows and Linux. Familiarity with the following would be considered an asset: neogeography concepts, KML, OGC Standards, open source GIS projects, spatial databases, scripting experience for streamlining and automating workflows, experience with municipal systems and processes, and exposure to various Internet/Intranet mapping options. You must be a team player with ability to work with a variety of simultaneous goals and issues; and be flexible and self motivated.
