Job Description

Keystone Wildlife Research Ltd. provides biological, GIS and resource management consulting services to clients in the public and private sectors throughout British Columbia. We are searching for a full time GIS/Field Technician to join our team. Applicants must have at least a bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, forestry, geography, GIS, or wildlife biology, and have certified GIS training. Must be proficient with MS Access, ESRI GIS software and data models, and general GIS concepts and procedures. Duties will include digitising and editing spatial datasets, routine spatial analysis, production of presentation maps, analysis of attribute data, collecting data in the field and drafting technical documents/summaries. Fieldwork requires candidates to be physically fit, comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and able to travel away from home for 7-10 days at a time. Candidates with at least 1 year of experience, familiarity with provincial land resource data types, BC wildlife and plants, and willing to work in the field will be given highest consideration.
