Job Description

Position Title: Marketing and Sales Support Coordinator Term: Permanent Fulltime Location: Markham, Ontario Reporting to: General Manager, Web Services First Base Solutions Inc. presently provides a range of mapping services. The company has recently invested in digital aerial acquisition and processing technology and has carried out major mapping projects covering much of Southern Ontario and cities throughout Canada. The company also recently became Google’s first geospatial partner in Canada and only the third worldwide. We are now expanding our products and services to take advantage of new technologies and our large geo-data library. We seek an experienced Marketing and Sales Support Coordinator to prepare and execute marketing strategies to assist the sales force in promoting FBS’ service offerings to existing clients as well as develop new sales activities. This position requires a great deal of writing and coordinating of all marketing efforts including collateral material, e-mail campaigns, press releases, seminars, advertisements, articles, and webpages. Responsibilities · Assist the General Manager in developing and then writing the marketing plan (including roll-out schedule, communications strategy, launch budget, pricing strategy and competitive positioning) · Assist the General Manager in executing the marketing and sales plan · Assist the sales force in capturing contact data and mailing lists, writing sales proposals and managing customer relationships, using especially AccPac CRM · Exceptional, demonstrable written marketing communication skills essential: o Must be able to perform writing, extensive proofreading and editing, page layout with graphics, and coordinate with multiple parties internally and externally o Can communicate orally and in written form, with all levels of business executives with accuracy, clarity and style reflective of the audience o Assist the sales force in preparing and delivering sophisticated and sometimes necessarily complex quotations, proposals and customer profiles o Assist the sales force in creating compelling presentations and demonstrations to internal and external 'C' level management o Work closely with mapping and Web services staff to develop compelling webpage copy o Write press releases, copy for brochures, author articles and white papers, quarterly newsletter, reference account testimonials, etc. o Skill with PowerPoint and graphic image manipulation programs (PhotoShop, Illustrator, CorelDraw, Visio, etc.) highly desirable · Become intimately conversant with AccPac CRM as a primary sales data collection and analysis tool · Provide day to day communications with the sales force to insure sales needs are being managed with quality and dispatch · Study the competitive environment in conjunction with the sales team, then manage pricing using effective tracking of the competitive pricing landscape and other competitive intelligence, to assist the General Manager in successfully achieving revenue, profitability and overall financial goals · Deliver product information and product positioning, and offer pricing guidance on bidding scenarios · Plan, manage and attend conferences, exhibitions, seminars, trade shows and other customer-facing events as appropriate · Develop technical demos for clients and other customer-facing events · Maintain an ongoing understanding of the market factors that attribute to customer defection on the website · Work on special projects as they arise · Develop and maintain a clear understanding of the company’s fiscal business strategy · Assure continual account satisfaction through maximum responsiveness, superior service levels and personalized customer care · Review the sales funnel activity on at least a weekly basis with the General Manager · Assist the sales force in accurately forecasting business opportunities

Job Qualifications

Requirements · Minimum 3 years experience in a marketing role, ideally in an Earth Science discipline (GIS, surveying, mapping, remote sensing, etc.) · A bachelor’s degree in geography or a related Earth Science field, or Marketing, or equivalent experience, with industry and product knowledge of any, or all, of the following being highly desirable: geospatial data, aerial photography, mapping, GIS, GPS, orthorectification, remote sensing, photogrammetry, Google Earth/Maps, any other geosciences, or related geospatial information technology (eg. virtual globes, digital mapping, etc.) · Self-motivated driver who works with, and motivates, company staff to assist throughout the sale and beyond to ensure that the customer is provided exceptional service and business value through all aspects of the business relationship · Understand technical and business issues involved with developing and bringing to market mapping technology products and solutions · Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize, meet deadlines and constantly adapt to a changing market environment. · Experience conducting primary research and providing actionable recommendations · Ability to interact with customers and prospects to clearly understand customer problems · Understand competitor strategies, products and pricing patterns in order to position the Company’s products advantageously, recommending pricing strategies, and negotiate pricing structures effectively · Willing to travel at least 20% of the time · Strong business computer skills (MS Office, Internet, e-mail, CRM, presentation and diagramming software) · Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding, results-driven, team-oriented environment Located in Markham, Ontario (Hwy 404 & #7) we offer a competitive compensation program commensurate with experience, a fast paced professional environment and the opportunity to participate in the growth of an exciting, high tech company working on the fringe of emerging data visualization and massive image processing technologies and trends.
