Job Description
Develops GIS project methodologies and products; designs and coordinates technical aspects of GIS projects in consultation with managers and staff. Provides spatial analysis of GIS data and develops and disseminates GIS output products. Project Manages the development of custom GIS computer applications to meet specific client needs in consultation with managers and staff. Provides data maintenance and technical support to the Branch enterprise GIS system. Develops, maintains and manages spatial databases and prepares and maintains metadata documentation for spatial datasets. Provides advice regarding the preparation, use, limitations and availability of GIS datasets; identifies and resolves problems encountered with spatial datasets; monitors and reports on quality of deliverables from contractors and others. Designs and develops spatial and tabular data models, in consultation with managers and staff; maintains data integrity and security in a network environment. Compiles, processes and integrates GPS data into GIS projects and applications Designs and coordinates technical aspects of internet GIS projects. Maintains and Purchases Equipment and Software used to collect and process spatial data. Conducts field collection of data to be used in a GIS environment.
Job Qualifications
Education:
Graduation from a minimum two year diploma program in Geographic Information Systems or another specialty relevant to the position being staffed.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years experience in manipulating, processing and analyzing geospatial data using ArcGIS and ArcSDE

• Ability and willingness to travel to Remote Locations by vehicle, Ship\boat, or Small Aircraft.
• Physically fit enough to work in rough terrain under various weather conditions.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings and weekends as required.
• The candidate must have a valid driver's license held within Canada.
