Job Description

In response to dynamic and growing business opportunities, our staffing requirements continue to expand. Our Victoria branch currently has full time employment opportunities for GIS Specialists. The GIS Specialist will work on a diverse range of projects including: timber supply analysis, ecosystem modeling, First Nations and protected area mapping, remote sensing, and forest inventory support. In a dynamic team environment, the GIS specialist draws on the skills and experience of a large group of foresters, ecologists, information technologists, and GIS specialists.

Job Qualifications

In order to be successful the GIS Specialist will: • Be self-motivated and team-oriented; • Have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; • Bring professionalism and innovation to all tasks; • Have experience and/or formal training in ArcGIS and ArcInfo Workstation; • Be skilled and interested in automating GIS tasks with AML, Python, or Visual Basic; • Hold a GIS focused post secondary accreditation; • Enjoy problem solving and GIS analysis; and • Be enthusiastic about enhancing their existing GIS talent. This is a full time salary position. Remuneration is commensurate with experience and demonstrated contribution to the firm.
