Job Description
The GIS technician will help lead the development of the Vector Geomatics GIS department. This includes, but is not limited to, the maintenance of a GIS database, creating, maintaining and disseminating maps, reviewing and quality controlling mapping products.
Job Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have post secondary training and/or education in GIS from a recognized and accredited institution, with specific experience using the ESRI suite of software (Arcinfo/ArcGIS, Arcview, ArcSDE, ArcIMS). The successful applicant will also have a demonstrated background and understanding of GIS principles and practices, experience with Python programming, plus a sound understanding of SAFE FME, MS Access, relational database fundamentals, SQL, and demonstrated cartographic abilities is a must.
