Job Description
THE POSITION:
The GIS Analyst is responsible for the following duties:
„X Provide mapping services to the Cariboo Woodlands staff to achieve operational goals and objectives while adhering to established mapping standards and protocols.
„X Advice and implement new mapping standards and protocols as needed.
„X Assist in the production of map products.
„X As part of the mapping team, be competent with both Microstation and ArcInfo to meet staff mapping and analytical requirements.
„X Help manage and maintain current accurate digital information that can be reproduced for operational use to set standards.
„X Assist with managing databases and spatial information and assist staff in use of plot files.
„X Programming to ensure links with tracking systems.
„X Liase with government agencies, industry and consultants regarding the exchange of spatial data and information.
Job Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must have proven excellent communication skills coupled with being a motivated and responsible individual. Knowledge of cartographic standards is required. Preference will be give to candidates that possess a Bachelor of Science (Computer Science, Geography or Forestry). Software experience including: Access, SQL, Microsoft Suite, CADD, GIS and FME will be considered a definite asset.
