Job Description
ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR
GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS (GIS)
SCHOOL OF CONSTRUCTION
BCIT's Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Department is seeking a temporary, part-time Assistant Instructor. This individual will provide assistance in GIS student industry projects and practicums. A thorough knowledge of GIS software, databases, geospatial data handling, and computer programming is essential.
Job Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree and formal education related to GIS
• At least two years of practical experience with GIS
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to problem solve
• Teaching experience would be an asset
TERM OF APPOINTMENT: January 6, 2006 to May 19, 2006 (9 hrs/wk average)
SALARY RANGE: $45,786 to $59,098 per annum
(Placement based on education and experience; prorated based on percentage of appointment)
