Job Description
GENERAL
A key member of the Woodlands Information Management (WIM) group in the Fort St. John operations, the successful candidate will work closely with operational staff to provide support for business, technical and forestry information needs.
DUTIES
- Represent divisional interest regarding technology and training needs;
- Provide technical support and expertise to improve efficiencies in woodlands management systems and business processes;
- Provide cost effective technology solutions for woodlands and management staff;
- Deliver on divisional requirements for data integrity, information requests, and infrastructure needs;
- Ensure training needs of woodlands are addressed;
- Active participation with WIM team members in other divisions to share best management practices and expertise.
Job Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- A degree or diploma in Geographic Information Systems or Natural Sciences (Forestry or Geography) with a minimum of four years GIS-specific experience;
- At minimum the candidate must be proficient with ESRI ArcInfo v8x, ArcView, Oracle, Access, SQL, Crystal reporting, and have expertise in using advanced reporting/query tools;
- Excellent interpersonal and team participation skills are essential.
