Job Description


The GIS Analyst/Programmer will contribute in the design, creation, modifications, and management of GIS software applications, dividing time between the maintenance of current applications and the design of new applications as well as helping maintain geospatial labs on campus. The GIS Analyst/Programmer will work under the GIS Manager.

Job Qualifications


ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

- Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Geography or Management Information Systems or a related field or concentration.
- Must have 3 years experience in GIS industry.
- Extensive knowledge of a variety of vendor specific GIS software programs particularly ESRI Software (ArcGIS, ArcIMS, ArcSDE).
- Must have extensive knowledge of databases and database software: Oracle8/9, PL/SQL, SQL, Access.
- Knowledge of geostatistics and spatial theory.
- Must be able to use GIS software with multiple programming languages: C, C++, Visual Basic, Python XML, Java, Java Script to integrate databases, store and manipulate tabular data, generate maps, metadata, and troubleshoot networked systems.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

Presentation skills, web development, system networking, good problem solving and troubleshooting skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills.

RATE OF PAY: $51,351
