Job Description
With continual changes in spatial data capture and management, BCIT’s Bachelor of Technology in Geomatics/GIS degree provides excellent opportunities for career enhancement and professional growth.
The Geomatics/GIS Engineering Technology Department is looking for a regular, full-time Instructor to teach into their diploma and degree programs. The successful individual will be an enthusiastic, team-oriented professional with broad, practical knowledge of the geomatics and/or GIS industries and have expertise in one or more of the following areas:
1.Hydrographic Surveying
2.Database Systems
3.Computer Programming
4.Geographic Information Systems
Job Qualifications
•PhD in a related discipline; exceptional applicants with a Master’s in Geomatics will be considered
•Current membership in the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (APEGBC), or other North American associations with eligibility to transfer to APEGBC
•Minimum five years’ relevant work experience is preferred
•Solid leadership and teamwork skills required
•Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
•Previous teaching experience an asset
