Director, Land Negotiations
$86,200.00 - $122,100.01 annually
The Strategic Partnerships and Initiatives Division (SPID) has a central role in leading and supporting government and community-based initiatives and priorities that reflect self-determination for First Nations and Indigenous People. SPID champions reconciliation strategies through expert guidance and advice to lead and support key initiatives.
The Director, Land Negotiations provides leadership on achieving tangible reconciliation related to developing land packages with First Nations and overseeing planning and program delivery with First Nations under Treaty and other agreements.

Qualifications for this role include:
- Minimum three (3) years experience working effectively, respectfully and knowledgeably with First Nations communities towards mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Degree in economics, law, public administration, business administration, or other related discipline. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in land management and land disposition; including knowledge of Crown land management, disposition and relevant statutes (Land Act, Land Title Act, etc.), lands policy, and current and historical precedence and practice.
- Experience in management of financial resources, procurement, contract deliverables, projects and multi-disciplinary professional and technical staff.
- Experience working and negotiating solutions in a cross-cultural setting,
- Experience negotiating/mediating solutions in a public sector environment.
