Multiple Locations (Hybrid)

Currently there are two (2) permanent opportunities available. This position can be based in any Water, Lands, and Resource Stewardship office. The recruitment process for this competition may take place virtually. Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week as per the Telework Agreement.

 

Geospatial Services Team Lead

$80,652.20 - $91,992.70 annually + Smithers $32.89 bi-weekly isolation allowance

 

GeoBC manages and analyzes geospatial information and creates products to help government better manage natural resources in British Columbia. GeoBC offers Geographic Information services to government agencies, particularly the natural resource sector.  

 

The Geospatial Team Lead leads and manages a geospatial services team within the Geospatial Services section of GeoBC, for delivery of geospatial needs and information within Natural Resource Regions and provincial portfolios, ensuring geospatial resource support to BC government mandates and priorities at local and provincial scales.

Job Qualifications

Qualifications for this role include:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in geomatics, resource management, geography, environmental science, computer science or related area, OR
  • Diploma in geographic information systems, OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and related experience* may be considered.

*Related Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience supporting clients and/or project teams designing and developing spatial analysis solutions.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in a role predominantly responsible for GIS analysis and mapping
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience using ESRI GIS products.
