There is one immediate project position available for 12 months, to March 31, 2022, with an opportunity to extend to a maximum of 24 months (March 31, 2023).

The Geomatics / Geodetic Specialist position provides survey adjustment, modelling, and GIS-related support to two professional engineers in providing professional expertise that directly impacts executive and stakeholder decision-making, and supports the executive’s ability to address key provincial issues related to geo-referencing (e.g., survey of Crown and private land, oil and gas tenures and infrastructure, forest tenures, transportation and utilities surveys, etc.). This also role supports the provision of the ongoing operation, maintenance and modernization of geodetic reference systems (e.g., analysis and mathematical modelling for the MASCOT survey control database system, guiding other staff in using complex algorithms and software tools, evaluating and implementing developments in Global Navigation Satellite System technologies).

Job Qualifications
Qualifications for this role include:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in geomatics, survey engineering, geography, computer science or equivalent, plus two (2) years of related experience, OR, a diploma in surveying/geomatics technology plus four (4) years of related experience.
Related Experience must include the following:
- Experience developing and managing large spatial and attribute data sets.
- Experience with database management tools and applications.
- Experience developing methodologies and performing custom geo-spatial data modelling and complex analysis and interpretations.
