As the Geospatial Enterprise Manager, you will be responsible for managing and leading a dedicated group of GIS specialist to support and shape our geospatial landscape and ongoing and evolving needs for geospatial information. 

In this role, you will:
  • Support, maintain, and enhance several key GIS and GIS-related applications
  • Work closely with business users to identify and recommend process improvements
  • Implement solutions to streamline processes and system enhancements
  • Advance the use of GIS as a key enterprise technology
  • Provide leadership to staff using effective management techniques; collaborate with Human Resources, participate in recruiting activities, make hiring decisions, set performance expectations and conduct regular performance reviews. 
  • Ensure staff effectively trained; provide guidance and direction, investigate issues and facilitate problem resolution. 
  • Assign and coordinate work to team members, track project deliverables, facilitate weekly status meetings and provide regular updates.
In year 1, you will:
  • Gain a strong understanding of our geographical information systems and integrated geospatial business processes while looking for ways to improve them
  • Manage a small group of GIS specialist 
  • Execute on short-term goals and objectives
  • Support ongoing and upcoming projects
In year 2, you will:
  • Continue with short-term goals and objective 
  • Work on technology advancement to support business objectives and 5 year GIS plan
  • Ensure future plans are weaved into current project plans
  • Develop a continuous team and process improvement environment with a focus on full integration of Gas and Electric GIS activities

Job Qualifications

What it takes:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and training.  
  • A minimum of 8 years in a lead role or management position.
  • Strong knowledge with industry leading GIS systems
  • Ability to communicate clearly and in a timely manner
  • Ability to build strong partnerships
  • Ability to lead a team of GIS experts to support GIS initiatives and business partnerships
  • Ability to delivery on GIS initiatives 
  • Ability to execute on existing short-term goals and objective
  • Provide mentorship to the GIS team
  • Knowledge of the Utility business, business units and processes
