Geomatics Technician Role:

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Work closely with our team on field data processing, job progress tracking as well as survey plan checking and computations
  • Liaise closely with project management to effectively provide clients with excellent service
  • Follow all Midwest Surveys health and safety protocols and is committed to ongoing learning in this area 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Project Manager, Land Surveyor, or Office Manager

Job Qualifications

Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates who hold a degree / diploma in Geomatics or equivalent combinations of education and experience.  The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in the Survey industry, similar role preferred
  • Understanding of survey methodologies, land surveying acts and regulations as they apply to the practice of Land Surveying
  • Proficiency in the use of all Microsoft applications is required
  • A working knowledge of how GPS and total stations are used in the collection of survey data
  • Proficient in the use of survey software including MicroSurvey

  • Good communication skills and a strong sense of professionalism when interacting with crews, drafting staff, Land Surveyors and clients
  • Strong mathematical and computer operating skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated accuracy, neatness and professionalism in the development of survey products
