Geomatics Technician Role:
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Work closely with our team on field data processing, job progress tracking as well as survey plan checking and computations
- Liaise closely with project management to effectively provide clients with excellent service
- Follow all Midwest Surveys health and safety protocols and is committed to ongoing learning in this area
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Project Manager, Land Surveyor, or Office Manager
Job Qualifications
Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates who hold a degree / diploma in Geomatics or equivalent combinations of education and experience. The successful candidate will have:
- Minimum of five years’ experience in the Survey industry, similar role preferred
- Understanding of survey methodologies, land surveying acts and regulations as they apply to the practice of Land Surveying
- Proficiency in the use of all Microsoft applications is required
- A working knowledge of how GPS and total stations are used in the collection of survey data
- Proficient in the use of survey software including MicroSurvey
Key Competencies and Behavioural Attributes:
- Good communication skills and a strong sense of professionalism when interacting with crews, drafting staff, Land Surveyors and clients
- Strong mathematical and computer operating skills
- Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated accuracy, neatness and professionalism in the development of survey products
