Millennium EMS Solutions Ltd. (MEMS) is looking for the right candidate to continue the growth of the Geomatics Department.  There are currently seven individuals in the department.  On a daily basis the group is required to utilize spatial data to create a variety of figures for a number of environmental projects.  In addition, this position would assist the Discipline Lead in the direction and development of innovative GIS systems and approaches to meet client needs and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate should have at least two years of experience working within a professional GIS group environment.  Experience considered key would include working with spatial datasets and map building for various environmental consulting disciplines such as soils, vegetation, remediation, reclamation and wildlife.  Preference will be given to those candidates with strong GIS skills, proven experience managing and maintaining geospatial data within an enterprise environment.  The successful candidate must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic and be able to work effectively in a multi disciplinary setting.


Job Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Strong experience with the ESRI suite of GIS applications
  • Firm understanding of commonly used spatial data structures, terminology and formats
  • Proficient in managing and maintaining of geospatial data (File Based, MS SQL-ArcSDE environment)
  • Experience with remotely sensed data (aerial photography, satellite imagery, LiDAR)
  • Understanding of commonly used coordinate systems
  • Ability to work in a team environment (local and remote team members), interpersonal, innovative, passionate about their work, high attention to detail

Asset Qualifications

  • Experience working with AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of FME, ArcGIS Model Builder
  • Understanding of ArcGIS Server Administration
  • Software architecture and programming knowledge (Python, .NET, JavaScript, HTML5, iOS)
  • Knowledge of the ArcGIS Online environment and web-based GIS applications
