Job Description

Reports to:  Marketing Manager

Outside Sales/Account Management Responsibilities:

All responsibilities are under the general direction of the Marketing Manager.

  • Within assigned territory, specialty or product line, develop and monitor an annual sales plan, including target audience and target sales.
  • Demonstrate excellent client pre-qualification assessment, sales and marketing, negotiation, verbal/written communication and analysis/problem solving skills.
  • Identify, establish and maintain consultative relationships and knowledge of senior level clients’ business, needs and locations.
  • Responsible for all aspects of assigned client accounts, e.g. proactively contact and present solutions; respond to customer requests, issues and project requirements; provide accurate/timely quotations, proposals and invoices; follow-up on satisfaction, new projects and aged accounts.
  • Ensure that Eagle Mapping’s policies and pricing guidelines are followed, and contracts are acquired at a pricing level sufficient to meet project/financial benchmarks.
  • Be at the "expert" level in at least one sector or service line while also developing experience in all EM service offerings and sectors.
  • Collaborate/work with global team (management, production, and account owners/managers) to provide the highest quality proposals, client support and satisfaction.
  • Ensure production/project managers are notified of any changes impacting production, deliverables or schedule.
  • Participate in on-going marketing/advertising campaigns, trade shows and presentations.
  • Prepare white papers, presentations, education, and general/targeted marketing materials within area of expertise, according to corporate/individual marketing plans as required.
  • Report weekly sales activities, e.g. status, outcomes and changes to client contacts, sales funnel, delivery, team participation and follow-up.
  • Maintain currency on trends, identify competitive threats/opportunities, recommend new/alternative target markets, products and/or services, and participate in marketing strategy development.
  • All requests (e.g. vacation, time off) to be scheduled and pre-approved through marketing or general manager.
  • Other related duties as required.

Job Qualifications

General Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge/experience in identifying, initiating and closing client sales independently in technical mapping, imagery or related technical sales.
  • Excellent analysis, and verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to educate staff/clients and promote products/services through appropriate media (e.g. in person, white papers, presentations).
  • Excellent working relationships with clients, management and teams.
  • Experience in collaborating on proposals/projects and supporting clients/team members with specialist/technical expertise are assets.
  • Experience in International sales, up-selling and cross-selling products and/or services are assets.
  • Organized, professional, ethical, with continual sales improvement/learning approach (e.g. seminars, coaching, books).
  • Bilingual skills and/or knowledge of other cultures/industries are an asset.
