Job Description
The successful candidate will have 4-8 years of experience in Geomatics/GIS with background in environmental and/or infrastructure projects preferred. Strong hands-on experience performing data gathering, data processing, data management, advanced analysis and cartography required. Experience in using ESRI ArcGIS is required. Experience using AutoDesk/AutoCAD and graphics software such as Adobe Illustrator and CorelDraw desired.
Responsibilities:
- Liaise with Environment and Engineering teams to determine requirements and effort estimates for Geomatics deliverables
- Data mining, gathering, collation of available spatial data to support project requirements
- Perform advanced GIS analysis
- Create and maintain environmental sampling location databases
- Support field programs through the provision of field maps and post-processing of field data
- Produce creative, high-impact visual products (e.g. maps, charts, tables, presentation graphics)
- Support internal and external Business Development activities and proposal preparation
- Provide support to Environmental Drafting team, as required
Job Qualifications
Requirements:
- A bachelors or masters degree in GIS, geomatics engineering, or related field
- Able to work independently, with minimal supervision or guidance
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal and time management skills; able to manage own workload
- Eye for details; ability to produce deliverables that meet and exceed high standards of quality
- Strong working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS, AutoDesk AutoCAD, and graphic design products
- Demonstrated experience in GIS data conversion (e.g. between GIS and CAD platforms)
- Experience using Remote Sensing products such as LiDAR, aerial photography and satellite imagery
- Strong understanding of map projections and datums
