Project Manager/Plan Checker - Based out of Medicine Hat

Our Medicine Hat Branch is currently seeking a Project Manager/Plan Checker with a Degree or Diploma from a recognized Geomatics Program or equivalent, and/or a combination of training and experience in plan checking or field surveying.  Reporting directly to the ALS and will work closely with the Sr. Project Manager/Plan Checker the Project Manager/Plan Checker is responsible for assisting with and preparing proposals and coordinating projects from start to finish, including reviewing plans as outlined by field staff and subsequently prepared by members of the drafting team.  The Project Manager/Plan Checker will also be responsible for directing Project Manager Assistants (PMA), Field Crews, and CAD Technicians as necessary to ensure that projects are completed within technical, project, budgetary, and time line commitments.    As a Project Manager/Plan Checker your duties will include but are not limited to:

• Responsible for completing your respective projects final review prior to going to the ALS, ensuring compliance with Precisions company policies and standards
• Act as a leader and mentor to other Team members, including PMA, CAD Technicians and Field Staff
• Quality control checks
• Interpret surveyors notes, sketches, air-photos and large digital data sets
• Confirm that proper field work procedures were followed and that all required survey measurements were collected
• Flag any identified field errors and consult the overseeingALSor speak with Party Chief regarding errors, when required create a black file with any field correction information and provide to theALS.
• Update and complete all digital tracking and data storage records pertaining to each project
• Review project for completeness prior to distributing to client
• Communicate effectively with the Field Staff, Drafters, other Plan Checkers and Project Managers to ensure that projects are completed with maximum efficiency.
• Identify areas of recurring mistakes as well as opportunities to eliminate errors and improve workflow
• Keep ALS apprised of project and any concerns that may arise
