Job Description
The Project Developer provides information, documentation, and overall support to Project Managers and other Development staff.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
Creates and updates project maps and databases using GIS tools
- Coordinates and assembles project proposals to landowners and utilities
- Assists with community outreach and land acquisition activities
- Conducts land, market, regulatory, and related project research
- Represents Horizon in the field, working with Project Managers and landowners to create and amend agreements, options, leases, and land sales
- Communicates with the Energy Assessment team to ensure meteorological towers are erected and properly transmitting information
- Compiles documentation, attends meetings, conducts necessary studies, and performs other tasks as needed to obtain permits for wind farms at the local, state, and federal level
- Assists with efforts to secure transmission and interconnection rights from utilities and transmission providers
- Prepares and submits permit applications to the FAA, and supports Engineering team in duties relating to federal permitting activities
- Supports internal reporting and project tracking efforts
- Assists with state, federal, and regional permitting of wind farms
- Participates in the preparation of proposals that are submitted to utilities
- Additional duties as required
Job Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field
REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: 0 – 2 years of progressively responsible project management experience in energy or a related industry
REQUIRED LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software; some knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS and Spatial Analyst software preferred
