Job Description

CARIS is seeking an experienced and motivated Technical Support Consultant - Hydrography to join our Customer Services team.

The main tasks in this challenging multi faceted position will consist of a wide range of activities with an initial focus on providing support as well as training to our clients in the fields of hydrographic surveying, bathymetric data management and related area's. Furthermore involvement in the marketing and sales activities of CARIS including attending international conferences and exhibitions can become part of the position. The employee will be playing a key role in a dynamic international team working together on high-level spatial problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Build close working relationships with existing clients
  • Analyze current client systems, identify technical problems, formulate and demonstrate integrated solutions
  • Use and build their industry knowledge to discover potential clients
  • Exude confidence and provide formal professional presentations
  • Provide onsite training and consulting for CARIS clients
  • Provide technical support for CARIS users

Requirements (Education and Experience)

  • Degree in Hydrography, Geo-Science or Spatial Engineering
  • Knowledge of and experience with hydrographic surveying software will be an advantage preferably in combination with Geographic Information Systems
  • Language capabilities in English
  • Experience in working with the CARIS line of products
  • Capable of conducting high level consultancy and training
  • Highly organized and flexible person capable of adapting rapidly to changes in technology
  • Willingness to travel frequently to other countries, mostly for short periods

 

Job Qualifications

Terms of Employment
Permanent, Full-time

Wages and Benefits:

  • $45,000.00 to $55,000.00, 40.00 Hours per week, Medical Benefits, Dental Benefits, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance Benefits, RRSP Benefits, Vision Care Benefits. Wage package subject to qualifications.

Location
Successful applicant will work at CARIS’ global headquarters in Fredericton, New Brunswick.  Frequent travel at times on short notice is required.
