Job Description

We are currently accepting applications for Survey Technologists at our Northern Alberta locations.

About our Company: Ainsworth Construction Services

Ainsworth has been involved in construction surveying since 1987. Since 2001, Ainsworth has been dedicated to the development of Oil Sands Projects in Fort McMurray and Edmonton. Our services include all aspects of plant construction from the initial dirt work to the final asbuilt submissions. We also provide technical drawings, concrete testing and rebar-tying services.

Position Details

Activities

In this office position you will be performing construction survey calculations, building as-built information and drawings. Working closely with our operations staff, you will prepare stakeout file uploads and use field data to create as-built reports.

The daily duties of this position will include, but not be limited to;

Compilation of survey data and drawings
Generation of sketches
Supporting Coordination with the clients QA team
Crossover shift support of other Survey Techs
Occasional Field inspection and coordination
Participate and assist with safety meetings, hazard assessments and safe work procedures.

Job Qualifications

Persons with a diploma in civil/survey technology are preferred. Candidates without a formal education in civil/survey technology must have construction survey experience using; total stations, GPS equipment, and underground locating equipment. Safety training and site orientations will be provided. Candidates must posess:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Civil Construction Industry
At least 3 years of experience with drafting with AutoCAD Land Desktop, Civil 3D, or MicroSurvey
Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
Able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening test.
Willing to submit criminal record check
