DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

The survey CAD technician will be responsible for drafting various legal survey plans for both municipal purposes and for the oilfield industry.  The survey CAD technician will report to the production manager.

Job Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Thorough knowledge of current AutoCAD Map 3D (version 2010 or newer)
  • FDO
  • Annotative text
  • Dynamic blocks
  • Creating & analyzing topologies
  • Minimum 3 years Alberta oilfield drafting experience
  • Ability to interpret survey plans/documents
  • CAD programming experience (AutoLisp, VB etc…)
  • Desire to pursue a long-term career in a dynamic, supportive environment

WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • Online search tools (LSAS, IHS, SPIN II etc…)
  • Drafting plans in unsurveyed territory
  • Basic survey calculations
  • Alberta public lands, Land Surface Disposition requirements
  • Energy Resources Conservation Board “Directive 56”
  • Alberta Land Surveyors Association “Manual of Standard Practice”
  • Supplement to the Manual of Instructions for the Survey of Canada Lands (blue book)
