Hemmera is looking for a permanent (full time) professional to help advance our Geomatics Team in terms of a variety of responsibilities within our GIS environment, as per the specifics below:

 Responsibilities

  • Work primarily within our new ArcGIS for Server/ ArcSDE environment to help build, document and maintain our data management strategy for the Geomatics Team at Hemmera, including initial data modeling for many new projects.
  • Support and liaison this data management strategy with other existing in-house database structures, as applicable and where opportunities exist.
  • Design then program new and efficient tools and processes to streamline and facilitate the workflow of both our internal and external clients on the data management front, and within the Geomatics Team itself on both the front and back end of the data management system.
  • Share knowledge and innovative ideas to help continually improve our overall Geomatics Team, and promote a spirit of collaboration within our growing company.

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years’ expert knowledge within the Geomatics industry at large.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ professional experience working with data modeling in an ArcGIS for Server Enterprise/ ArcSDE environment, and establishing new projects/ schemas within that framework. A good grounding in working with other databases in general will also be considered a major asset.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ solid experience with SQL and Python programming.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in a related Geomatics field of study, with a preference given to candidates with a Master’s Degree within that discipline.
  • Exhibit exceptional communication and leadership skills within both an individual and team framework in the context of handling both internal and external client requests.
  • Preference given to applicants with knowledge of the Environmental Consulting industry.
  • Knowledge of field data collection units and processes an advantage.
