Job Description

BCIT's Geomatics Engineering Technology Department requires a regular (permanent) full-time instructor to teach a variety of Geomatics courses.

The suitable candidate should have strong communication skills in English and be committed to developing and presenting course material to prepare students for their careers. This position primarily involves teaching into the Geomatics Diploma and Bachelor of Technology programs.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor Degree and / or Professional Land Surveyor.

Minimum 5 years of industry experience in one or more of the areas listed below:

  • Practical field surveying methodologies using GNSS, total stations & data collection systems.
  • Field survey project management
  • Engineering surveys
  • Cadastral surveying
  • Survey adjustment routines including least squares and least squares analysis
  • CAD and Engineering software (Autodesk products, GEOLAB, Leica Geo Office)

Teaching Experience at the college / university level.

Ability to demonstrate extensive current knowledge of surveying and engineering practices relating to both field and office work.
