We have an immediate opening for a Geomatics Engineer/Technologist for our project in the Fort McMurray, Alberta area.  The work involves the re-location of two large processing facilities  and we are looking for a motivated self-starter to be involved with all aspects of the project. The expected completion date is December 2013.  Benefits include a highly competitive salary, room and board plus all travel expenses to and from the project site.

The ideal candidate be a Canadian citizen or have a valid work visa, will have a broad range of survey experience with exposure to construction and industrial sites or a new graduate interested in Engineering surveys.  A minimum requirement is a degree or technical diploma in the field of Geomatics.  Experience with AutoCAD and MicroSurvey software is a definite asset.  Excellent communication skills, able to take direction well and have a clean and valid class 5 driver’s license is essential.  Candidates must be willing to travel up to a few weeks at a time and be physically fit and mentally prepared to work in all types of weather conditions.  Pre-employment testing for drugs and alcohol and at regular intervals for site access will be necessary.

Kodiak Measurement Services Inc., located in Nelson, BC is a professional services firm specializing in industrial metrology applications throughout Western Canada and beyond.   Utilizing Leica industrial measuring systems, API Laser Trackers and FARO Laser Scanners we service major industries such as hydro-electric, pulp & paper, oil & gas, aerospace, manufacturing and the military.

Our head office is located in the Kootenay region of British Columbia, a most desirable place to live to enjoy some of the finest powder snow, fishing and hunting, mountain biking and hiking in Canada.  Upon completion of our Northern Alberta assignment the successful applicant will be based out of our head office performing a variety of industrial metrology work to service our clients in Western Canada.
