Job Qualifications

Hemmera is looking for an experienced professional to help lead the Geomatics team in terms of a variety of responsibilities within both the CAD and GIS environments.


• Lead the day-to-day work of the Geomatics team by assigning tasks and ensuring all client deadlines and expectations are met.
• Share knowledge and ideas within the Geomatics team to find effective and efficient solutions to common everyday issues as they arise.
• Work closely with the Director, Geomatics on improving our overall presence and developing new business opportunities as part of the larger Geomatics Line-of-Business plan.
• Help create estimates and responses to Requests for Proposals (RFP’s) for both our external and internal clients.
• Perform various Quality Assurance/ Quality Control tasks as part of a centralized Quality Management System within the Geomatics Team.
• Contribute to the overall production of the Geomatics team by creating maps and other types of products to help the team meet both its short and long term objectives.

Other Information


• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Geomatics industry, including at least 3 years’ experience in supervising Geomatics work.
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study, or technical equivalent.
• Thorough understanding of both CAD and GIS environments and concepts.
• Intermediate to Expert level hands-on knowledge of both Autodesk (AutoCAD) and ESRI (ArcGIS) platforms.
• Possess knowledge of fundamental principles of Cartography and Graphic Design.
• Past web mapping and ArcGIS for Server experience desirable.
• Previous involvement with preparing proposals and estimates an asset.
• Familiarity with Python an advantage.
• Environmental consulting industry knowledge will also be considered an asset.
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills within both an individual and team framework.
