Geographic Information System (GIS) Analyst

 

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and implement standard and procedures for GIS maintenance and administration.
  • Maintain corporate street numbering and street naming processes; create, link and maintain GIS database to other databases such as CityView and Financial Information System.
  • Provide support services including layer maintenance and quality control; hardware and software troubleshooting and upgrades; spatial and non-spatial database administration and enhancement; administering GIS related software licenses and agreements and create and integrate new data sources.
  • Design and coordinate the production of cartographic products that conform to corporate standards.
  • Provide support and training on GIS and related product and mapping.
  • Assist staff in defining GIS requirements including determining appropriate means and customizing GIS application development.

Job Qualifications

?Qualifications:

 

  • University Degree in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) or related discipline.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in GIS including knowledge of GIS principles and practices plus proficiency in Arc/Info and Arcview software and related ESRI programming tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Access database software and database development; familiarity with Word and Excel software and knowledge of AutoCAD preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of printing and plotting equipment and setup; basic drafting skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, investigative, research/report writing, problem solving skills and the ability to deal courteously and effectively with staff and the general public.
