Technician, GIS
$35.24 - $37.34 per hour
In this union position and as a member of our Engineering Services team in Leduc, you will be responsible for administrating the Company’s landbase; providing data quality assurance in the Graphical Information System (GIS) and providing administration for Microstation, Adobe Suite of products, and Visual Simulation software, as well as for liaising with others on GIS data matters.
Job Qualifications
You will require a two year college diploma in Geographic Information Systems, Computer Sciences, Integrated Planning Technology or equivalent. Also required is five years’ experience and knowledge of gas utilities operations, parcel/infrastructure information systems, GIS databases/software and the Alberta Township System, and three years’ experience in developing and maintaining GIS data/output products. To be successful in this position you must also have experience with spatial data analysis in municipalities and the ability to translate customer requirements into GIS reports and thematic maps.
