Job Description
Position Overview:
Ensuring accuracy of tunnelling or marine operation and facilitating field layout for projects that range in value from $20 million and $50 million, and vary in complexity, duration and location.
Job Conditions:
- Irregular work hours
- Travel may be required for extended periods of time
- Varying weather conditions and terrain
Responsibilities:
- Work in conjunction with a registered land surveyor to ensure benchmark and control point requirements are met.
- Coordinate and undertake planning and implementation of survey requirements to facilitate construction activities
- Coordinate and compile survey related contract submissions for progress claims
- Provide instrument relocation and maintenance
- Ensure survey equipment is properly maintained and calibrated in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations
- Responsible for survey related budget in conjunction with project manager
- Provide direction and oversight of those assisting with survey operations
Job Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Education: Post-secondary education in Engineering or Surveying discipline or equivalent experience
Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience in Construction
Requirements:
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Experience with survey techniques
Additional Qualifications: Exposure/experience in tunnel or marine construction is an asset
