Job Description
Primary Objective:
A member of the Altus Infrastructure Group the GIS Analyst is primarily responsible for designing and preparing plans and maps from collected field data and for planning purposes. As a GIS Analyst, you will be expected to work in a GIS environment generating composite/compiled maps displaying planned activities using and compiling various geospatial datasets. Candidates must have a positive attitude, a constant desire to learn, and must be able to work in a fast paced environment with a focus on quality and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
- Producing maps from topographic data and field notes;
- Preparing key plans, site plans, and site design drawings including cross-sections, profiles, figures, sketches, and charts for presentation in reports and proposals;
- Being responsible for product quality control with adherence to company standards and procedures.

Regular Work Hours:
- Minimum 40 hours weekly
- Overtime required during peak times
|
Technical & Behavioral Competencies:
- A thorough understanding of GIS
- Knowledge of Land Title systems
- Understanding of basic scientific and engineering principles
- Strong sense and commitment to GIS standards and procedures;
- Ability to prioritize and respond to the needs of several project managers
- Ability to work with the following software would be considered an asset: ArcGIS, Microstation, FME, ArcGIS Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL
- Focused on delivering high levels of quality with respect to work and service to clients (internal and external)
- Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented
- Demonstrated skills in client file management, planning and organization
- Ability to multi?]task and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to meet tight deadlines, multi-task and work under pressure
- Good problem solver with an ability to identify alternative solutions;
- Strong oral and written communication skills

Job Qualifications
Education/Professional Development/Work Experience Requirements:
- A diploma in GIS and/or Geomatics
- A basic understanding of theWesternCanadianTownshipsurvey system
- Experience in the production site and construction plans
- Experience completing mapping projects adhering to standards
- Experience in wireless, fibre and power transmission drafting/mapping
- The ability to meet deadlines
- A strong aptitude for math
