GEOMATICS TECHNICIAN
The AIRBORNE SENSING CORPORATION, based at the Toronto Island Airport, requires a Geomatics technician for the production of GPS/ IMU data and related products to provide precise position and orientation for airborne sensors.
The AIRBORNE SENSING CORPORATION conducts airborne projects in Canada, North America and the Caribbean. We need a team member to ensure that the data captured from those projects moves from validation right through to the delivery of airborne positioning related products while coordinating with other functional areas inside and outside the organization.
You will conduct verification and processing of airborne GPS/IMU data, ground-based GPS, flight management systems, prepare Geomatics data, and assist in related geomatics image processing. Duties may also include conducting control surveys, airborne data collection, on-site processing, least-squares adjustment of control surveys, Precise Point Positioning, and assisting in modern Aerial Triangulation processes.
You need to be detail oriented and have knowledge and interest in a variety of fields of geomatics such as aerial photography, GPS surveying, photogrammetry, geodetic reference systems, least-squares adjustment, and spatial data. You have to be very comfortable with technology and computers, be willing to learn new things, and to apply your knowledge. We will provide training as required.
