Job Description
The Tłıcho negotiated a comprehensive land claims and self-government (“Tłıcho Agreement”) in which the Tłıcho
have complete ownership of 39,000 square kilometres of land (surface and sub-surface), self-government powers and
management of resources. The principles and objectives of the Tłıcho Agreement are to protect, promote and enhance the Tłıcho language, culture and way of life. The Tłıcho Agreement became effective on August 4, 2005. This is an exciting time for the Tłıcho and the Tłıcho Government as we move forward with self-determination.
Job Qualifications
The GIS Technician is accountable for gathering information and data, mapping and reporting on land and resource
use activities on Tłıcho designated lands as well as in the Mǫnwhì Gogha Dè Nı t̨ łèè area. The incumbent is also
responsible for preparing reports on GIS information, providing technical support to GIS users, and maintaining
the GIS database system.
