LiDAR Services International Inc. (LSI) is a Calgary based airborne LiDAR data capture and processing company (www.lidarservices.ca). LSI designs, manufactures and operates aircraft and helicopter-based LiDAR systems and has been involved in airborne laser mapping since the company began operations in 2002. LSI presently owns and operates 3 LiDAR systems and has a staff complement of 21 professionals.
LSI requires a person with a geodetic background to fill a current opening as a LiDAR Data Analyst. The primary role of the position is to work in the Calgary office with the data processing team to prepare high quality products quickly and efficiently for transmission line, forestry, mining, road, pipeline and oil and gas mapping customers.
Responsibilities:
- LiDAR data processing, classification, manipulation and quality control.
- Geospatial Imagery and video production.
- Develop and improve data processing methodology and techniques to encourage efficient, high quality data production.
Qualifications:
- Post secondary education in a related discipline with principle understanding of surveying and mapping, GIS, datums and geoids, surface modelling and imagery processing.
- Basic understanding of LiDAR technology
- Benefit to have Microstation and Terrasolid knowledge and experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Aptitude for problem solving and making responsible decisions with minimal supervision.
