Geomatics Plan Technician
Bring your Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and survey expertise as part of a progressive and professional team to support the design and construction of Ontario highways!
In this challenging and technically diverse role, you will:
• create and assess legal and engineering survey products using computer- aided drafting and GIS tools
• research engineering and title records
• process and review engineering survey products
• use GIS to assist in data management, data analysis and prepare layers and thematic maps
• assist project staff by providing technical guidance and support
Location: 659 Exeter Road, London, Ontario
What we are looking for:
GIS Knowledge:
• you have demonstrated knowledge of GIS and standard computer software, such as ArcGIS and AutoCAD, to produce GIS themes, maps and spatial databases
• you can adapt to technological changes
Land and Engineering Survey Knowledge:
• you have demonstrated knowledge of legal survey plans and practices with knowledge of relevant legislation such as Surveys Act, Land Titles Act, Public Transportation and Highway Improvement Act
• you have demonstrated knowledge of land registry records and practices
• you have demonstrated knowledge of engineering survey principles, practices and procedures, such as control surveys, digital terrain modelling and alignments
Other Essential Skills:
• you have strong interpersonal and communication skills
• you have excellent analytical and research skills
• you have effective organizational skills to coordinate and organize work activities on multiple projects with varying levels of complexity
Salary range: $1,039.73 – $1,211.72 per week
