ESRI Canada’s Pacific Region has an exceptional professional opportunity for a Senior Consultant focusing on enterprise solutions for our clients in Provincial and Municipal Government. Based out of our regional office in Victoria, you will leverage your knowledge and experience in implementing GIS solutions based on ESRI technology.
Senior Consultant responsibilities:
• Providing technical expertise in the user needs analysis, estimation, design, development, and implementation phases of GIS solutions
• Perform Business Analyst activities capturing existing business processes and client requirements via white boarding, visioning, prototyping, specification and proposal creation
• Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives for improving processes in production systems across the organization.
• Complete technical studies and write technical recommendations and reports
• Collaborate with ESRI Inc. and ESRI business partners to review and develop solutions for Enterprise GIS clients
• Manage regular communications with clients, peers and project team members to manage expectations and to ensure project progress and success
• Work with other consultants in the design and delivery of client solutions from conception to completion
• Scope projects and assist the Project Manager in developing complete project charters and project plans for all assigned projects
• Support pre-sales and post-sales activities related to technical aspects of ESRI products
• Provide input into the preparation of proposals (e.g. RFPs, RFIs and RFQs)
Job Qualifications
Specific skill requirements:
• 7+ years relevant work experience with business and technical requirements gathering, data modeling and system design
• Experience implementing Enterprise GIS solutions for Provincial and Municipal Government
• Experience with the implementation of ESRI server and desktop products and application development architectures.
• Strong technical writing experience
• Demonstrated awareness of emerging IT trends and directions
• Technical College diploma or university degree e.g. computer science, GIS

• Time management / multi-tasking ability
• Detail oriented
• Possess good problem solving skills; be organized and a team player
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Considered as assets for this position are the following:
• Experience working with large IT organizations
• Experience developing webmapping applications with ArcGIS Server, Flex and Silverlight
