Job Description

We are currently seeking a full-time CAD & GIS Technologist in our Kingston, Ontario office. The sucessfull candidate will work closely with the Land Use Planning and the Civil Infrastructure group to provide both business and technical expertise for the needs of our clients. In this role you will assist with the coordination of all mapping related activities related to CAD and GIS and maintain the information on a GIS database system. Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the planning and engineering disciplines in providing base mapping, data base management, engineering design and drafting services,
• Assist the engineering disciplines in preparing plans, profiles, sections and details, for design, tender, construction and as-built drawing sets; and figures, sketches, and charts for proposals, reports and presentations,
• Reduce topographic data and survey field notes,
• Perform various calculations and provide technical assistance to the project design teams,
• Be responsible for product quality control with adherence to company GIS and CAD standards and procedures.
• Develop, recommend, implement and maintain the framework, strategies, policies and procedures for all ongoing and future CAD and GIS related activities
• Develop strategies to evolve CAD and GIS to enhance their accuracy, effectiveness and value
• Coordinate and compile spatial data related to Corporate Performance Measures/Development Agreements/Sustainability Scorecard

• A diploma from a recognized Civil Engineering Technology, Planning Technology, Engineering Design and Drafting Technology, or a related technology program
• A minimum of 2 years of experience with the delivery of GIS projects, ESRI suite of applications, Autodesk applications.
• Familiar with airphotos, database management systems, web GIS tools.
• Experience with municipal and environmental projects such as water and wastewater linear projects is an asset.
• Excellent design drafting skills in AutoCAD and related products
